Giving
The operations of Lunalilo Home are funded through the Trust’s investments, fees charged to residents, fundraising events, volunteers, in kind contributions, and charitable contributions. These sources of kokua are crucial to support King Lunalilo’s intent to provide an array of services and a home for sick and indigent Hawaiians. It is a manner I which to serve our kupuna who, for generations, have served and guided us, so please be generous.
Fundraising Events
Each year, Lunalilo Home hosts various events for the community that offer a variety of opportunities for supporting our kupuna. These include the Annual Luau, Golf Tournament, and Benefit Concert. Please contact us for further information on the manner in which you may serve.
Volunteers
Individuals as well as groups from our community are welcomed and invited to participating in the support of our kupuna through a commitment to volunteering at Lunalilo Home. This may take the form of performing Hawaiian music and hula with our residents, on a quarterly basis making fresh flower arrangements for the dining room tables, participating in a landscaping project, assisting with office and administrative functions, or sitting, talking with and playing games with the kupuna. Material Donations
From time to time, different items are needed for the residents and for the functioning of the home. These include clothing, toiletries, office equipment, and various electronics. Please see the current list of requested items and call Lunalilo Home at 808-395-1000 to arrange for a contribution.
Charitable Contributions
Lunalilo Home is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt not-for-profit organization. The generosity of our donors has made a significant impact on the ability to provide financial subsidies to Hawaiians who are unable to pay the regular fees and allows them to be serviced at Lunalilo Home. Persons and organizations are encouraged to be generous and use our online giving or by sending checks or money orders to Lunalilo Home.

Estate and Planned Giving
Just a His Majesty King Lunalilo provided for the kupuna through his will, similar vehicles exist today to make significant gifts to support our kupuna. Please speak to an attorney or financial advisor to pursue this route of giving.
