TRUSTEE & BOARD CHAIRSunshine Topping is the Hawaiʻi Lead for The Omidyar Group, overseeing the family’s philanthropic initiatives in Hawaiʻi and advancing statewide projects. With over 20 years of leadership experience, she has guided major Hawaiʻi companies in strengthening ties with the Native Hawaiian community. Raised on Hawaiian homestead lands in Keaukaha, she is passionate about uplifting Native Hawaiians. Named one of Hawaiʻi’s “20 for the Next 20” in 2017, Ms. Topping is involved with various boards and organizations, including the Hawaiʻi Workforce Development Council and the Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation. She holds degrees from the University of Colorado and Hawaiʻi Pacific University. Appointed trustee of the King William Charles Lunalilo Trust in 2021, she is dedicated to King Lunalilo’s legacy of honoring kūpuna and perpetuating Hawaiian culture.

TRUSTEE & BOARD TREASURERWith over 30 years of experience in strategic, operational, and administrative leadership, Edward “Eddie” Ontai currently serves as the President of DataHouse. Eddie has held leadership roles at Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, Catholic Charities Hawaii, and St. Francis Healthcare System.
Passionate about empowering others, Eddie is committed to fostering teamwork and innovation. His leadership style is rooted in ha`aha`a (humility), always working behind the scenes to support and uplift those around him. As a trustee of the King William Charles Lunalilo Trust Estate, he brings his expertise and deep sense of community to help further the mission of serving Hawai‘i’s kūpuna.

TRUSTEE & BOARD SECRETARYWith over 15 years of experience in teaching and 13 years of nonprofit community work, Daniel Goya’s insights and leadership play a key role in our efforts to maximize the benefit we are bringing to kūpuna and their caregivers. Daniel is the Director of Strategies and Innovation at the Mālama ʻĀina Foundation and a Strategic Analyst II at Kamehameha Schools. He is also the founder and CEO of Ke Ala Hoʻaka LLC, an organization that strives to build community wellness and resilience. In addition, Daniel created the first nationally accredited (NAEYC) homeless preschool in the nation and co-created a residential facility that serves as an alternative to youth incarceration. A graduate of Saint Louis High School, Daniel holds two degrees from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and a graduate certificate in resiliency-based approaches to trauma and adversity from the University of Vermont, along with numerous national certifications. Daniel views community issues through a two-lens approach – melding science and culture – and currently serves as a board member for Children’s Trust Fund.
